Stephany Pleasant

Stephany Pleasant ardently advocates for veterans to ensure they are cared for in their time of need, as they cared for the United States in its time of need. As a disability lawyer, she helps veterans to get the healthcare owed to them, but was erroneously denied, through appeal processes.

“Veterans are entitled to the benefits that will allow them to live out the rest of their lives physically and mentally well. I approach my clients through a framework of empathy. I have an interest in learning all that I can about their situation and how I can be of service to them.”

Pleasant joined Berry Law with a wealth of experience in disability law. She clerked and practiced as an attorney for Disability Rights of Nebraska, serving as co-counsel on a disability discrimination lawsuit that resulted in a six-figure settlement for her client. Stephany was also nominated for the Governor’s Point of Light Award and received the Equal Justice Award for her pro-bono work with Legal Aid of Nebraska before joining Berry Law.

“Becoming a Veteran’s disability attorney seemed like a natural progression of continuing the work I enjoy doing for people with disabilities.”

She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and German, with a minor in human rights. Pleasant went on to receive a Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law, concentrating in human rights and civil litigation.

In her free time, Stephany enjoys attending live theatre and concerts. She’s also an avid reader and writer, and recently took up painting.
