Executive Assistant to CEO

Location:  Lincoln or Omaha, NE

Position Summary

A rapidly growing Omaha based law firm looking for an executive assistant to its CEO.  The ideal candidate is someone who plans to be the CEO or COO of an organization in the future or has served as an aide de camp to a general officer.   This job is not for the faint of heart.  While hours are often 8-5, the executive assistant is expected to work at the pace of the CEO, which may result in some long, but rewarding days.  Applicants should be energetic, well spoken, well read, highly motivated and goal oriented.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enhances the work of the CEO through general assistance and organizational support daily
  • Coordinates and manages the CEO’s schedule and calendar by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, prioritizing functions and appointments, ensuring that meetings, deadlines, presentations and logistics are handled seamlessly
  • Creates spreadsheets and charts, PowerPoint presentations, visual representations and diagrams
  • Conserves the CEO’s time by reading, researching, and routing correspondence, drafting letters and documents, collecting and analyzing information, and initiating communications, managing relationships, managing social media
  • May attend meetings and travel with the CEO, as requested
  • Coordinates and books all travel for CEO
  • Facilitates planning for and execution of required technology, hospitality and space/logistics for meetings
  • Special projects as assigned such as:
    •  coordinating with book publisher

Experience and Professional Qualifications

  • Must understand the sensitive nature of working closely with the CEO and have good judgement, problem solving skills and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
  • Must have the ability to foresee future needs and act proactively
  • Must be able to anticipate and fulfill the business needs of executive leadership
  • Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be flexible in the face of changing priorities
  • Must have excellent written communications and interpersonal skills
  • Must project a positive, collaborative, professional demeanor always
  • Must have the ability to solve problems and meet deadlines with a great level of flexibility
  • Must have strong experience working effectively with a very busy CEO
  • Must have advanced- level expertise with the full MS Office Suite

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience. This company offers a competitive base salary plus health benefits and paid leave. This is a full-time, exempt position.
