The new property, located at 215 S. Main St., Suite 205, will begin offering services on January 1, 2023, but it will hardly be the first Berry-owned business in the state.
“I’m looking forward to opening an office in the state where our family values of service, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy were first planted, and it’s a legacy I’m proud to continue today.”
Family patriarch Glen Berry, father of John S. Berry Sr., and grandfather of John S. Berry Jr., established deep Iowa roots as owner of the Berry Lumber Company in Onawa, Iowa, and as a veteran of World War I. His sense of service carried over to his son, who earned a Bronze Star in Vietnam and established his legal practice in 1965 in Nebraska, and to his grandson, who led troops in Iraq and Bosnia.
For decades, Berry Law has provided services to the men and women who serve this nation, as well as personal injury, criminal defense, and other legal services that preserve an individual’s liberties.
“The ideals of service that drove my father, and that drive me, and which we bring to our legal practice, were learned in Iowa businesses and Iowa farms,” said Berry Jr. “In many ways, this office will represent our firm coming full circle.”
Glen Berry’s brother and nephew practiced law in Iowa, as well, which will no doubt add to both name recognition and a sense of history as the firm opens its new office. But many of the values that serve as a north star for the entire team today were first learned at the kitchen table on Glen Berry’s farm, where he and his wife, a former teacher, raised their kids with a sense of service and responsibility.
To this day, John S. Berry Sr. runs a farm in Iowa, where the family donated a log cabin to the Onawa Park, and where he’s argued before the Iowa Supreme Court.
With this storied history, Berry Law stands poised, ready to open its next Iowa chapter.
Berry Law was founded in 1965 by legendary attorney John S. Berry, Sr. With over 250 years of combined legal experience and 300 years of combined military service, the team at Berry Law is well equipped to handle the most serious injury, criminal, and veterans law matters.
