Laura Ostrander
After twenty years of working closely with insurance carriers and employers on workers’ compensation claims, Laura Ostrander knows how devastating the effects of a serious work injury can be on injured workers. She is honored to join Berry Law in order to apply her experience in the industry to now help injured workers navigate the complexity of the system and achieve the best possible outcomes in their claims. “Berry Law’s focus on the best possible client experiences showcases an organization that will focus on continued growth, success, and positive outcomes for our clients. Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Biology Minor from Luther College and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She went on to attend the University of Iowa College of Law and earned a Juris Doctorate with Distinction. She was Associate Editor of the Journal of Corporation Law and an Appellate Advocacy Student Judge.
Laura has represented clients before the Iowa Division of Workers’ Compensation, the Iowa District Courts, the Iowa Court of Appeals, and the Iowa Supreme Court, and her appellate work established several important workers’ compensation legal precedents in Iowa. She also worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Van Zimmer of the Iowa Court of Appeals immediately after graduating from law school.
