LINCOLN, NEBRASKA, September 4, 2020 – Berry Law’s Montana Crow, David Hoeser, and Carey Collingham have officially passed the Nebraska state bar exam as of Thursday, September 3, 2020, allowing them to practice law in the state of Nebraska. Ms. Crow and Mr. Hoeser will begin their legal careers by focusing on Veterans Law, while Mr. Collingham will handle civil matters and personal injury cases.
Passing the bar exam is an incredible accomplishment and is the culmination of years of training. Students who take the bar exam typically start studying several months prior to the exam date, spending full days studying the law to prepare. This year, four days before the 2020 bar exam, test takers were required to take a COVID-19 test, replacing valuable study time mere days before the two-day exam that would decide the future of their career. Due to the results, some students were unable to take the exam, leaving them unable to take the exam with their classmates.
This year’s bar exam was particularly challenging due to new procedures put in place to manage COVID-19 risk. Check-in was staggered to limit contact with others, forcing some people to check in more than two hours prior to their start time. They were required to stay in their seat and were unable to study during that time, while adding plenty of time for nerves and anxiety to kick in.
Berry Law’s clerks stuck together as a team, sitting together waiting for their results. One by one they opened their results and by the end, they were all smiling and sharing their excitement. Overcoming these additional obstacles, new attorneys Montana Crow, David Hoeser, and Carey Collingham had passed the exam. Berry Law is proud to add these three to the team as attorneys and look forward to their contribution to the Berry Law mission.

We are excited to welcome her as a VA Attorney at our firm, helping us fight for the rights of our Veterans.
David Hoeser served our country in the US Army for 4 years following high school. He later attended the University of Nebraska College of Law and graduated in May of 2020. As an Army Veteran, he is excited to practice Veterans Appeals Law in our Omaha office.
