Wins at the Court of Appeals for Veteran Affairs
Veterans Disability Attorney
As a VA disability attorney, Montana Crow battles tenaciously for our nation’s veterans. No stranger to the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes, Montana comes from a family of Veterans and a heart for public service which drives her in helping others who have served.
While pursuing an undergraduate degree at Iowa State University, Montana served in the executive cabinet as the Student Government Director of Government Affairs. She fiercely advocated for policy reform at the federal level, specifically for issues pertaining to mental health and sexual assault on college campuses.
Accustomed to the difficulties of operating within bureaucratic procedures, Montana brings a unique background to Berry Law. As a former policy and government affairs intern at the Nebraska state level as well as the Federal level, she learned how to cut through this bureaucratic red tape. Today, she embodies those same skills as an attorney fighting for Veteran’s rights.
“It opened my eyes to how Veterans are treated through the VA system. There are a lot of policy changes that need to be made.”
Montana makes it a priority to spend time getting to know her clients on a personal level and listening to their stories. Her background in public relations and policy work drive her creativity in presenting well-crafted arguments for her clients’ claims. Her relentless passion to help others, especially Veterans, drives her to fight until she fulfills her clients’ goals.
Outside of being an attorney, she finds joy in spending quality time with her nephews, literature, traveling, and photography.
“The only justification you have for looking down on someone is because you’re about to pick them up.”
Jesse JacksonA Little Extra Love and Encouragement
Montana has always viewed her bright, positive, funny, and adventurous personality as a gift she can share to bring others up. She sees those in crisis as people who simply need a little extra love and encouragement. That’s why she often donates and has volunteered at places like Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which provide assistance to anyone needy or sick. She’s also a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability and often donates to ocean clean-up initiatives because taking care of the planet helps everyone.
Spreading laughter and positivity is just how Montana inspires others. From doting on her two nephews, Ray and Nash, to making friends all around the world, to defending disabled Veterans, Montana gives people the hope and joy to take life into their own hands and make the best of it. She lives by the mantra, “The only justification you have for looking down on someone is because you’re about to pick them up.” For Veterans who feel looked down upon or abandoned by the country they serve, Montana makes it her mission to ensure they’re seen, heard, and lifted up.
Montana at Home – and Around the World
While Montana will always have a fondness for her home state of Iowa, her curious and boisterous personality wouldn’t let her stay put. She’s seen Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, and Aruba to name a few, and she’s surfed in quite a few places. Pick a place she’s been and Montana has probably made a friend there, even if she doesn’t speak the language. She loves seeing new places with her fiance, Jack, and adores being the cool aunt to her two precious nephews. Montana takes her camera everywhere she goes to capture every fun and special moment, whether that’s with her family, her friends, or with someone new in a fascinating foreign country. No matter what she’s doing or where she’s going, Montana loves to bring others into her fold and shower them with hope and encouragement. It’s why she finds such satisfaction getting Veterans their long-awaited disability compensation—their joy is also hers.
