Those living in Lincoln may occasionally indulge in a drink or two to relieve the stress of the work day. This is not an uncommon practice. However, it becomes a problematic practice if driving is added to the mix. For those who make the mistake of drinking and then driving, reckless behavior and a lowered ability to make good decisions could end in drunk driving charges.
One Wisconsin man is facing one such DUI charge after pulling up behind a sheriff’s deputy. It was reported that there were no traffic citations given on the afternoon that the man turned himself in. However, reports state that he blew a 0.20 on a breathalyzer test. Since that is above the legal limit of 0.08, a citation for operating a vehicle while intoxicated was issued. It was the man’s first offense and he did not resist arrest.
The case is being treated by some as an example of how poorly a person’s judgment can be damaged by drinking. According to reports, the man pulled up behind the deputy’s vehicle at around 8 Saturday night. It is reported that he thought the deputy might need help. After failing a field sobriety test, the man reportedly asked to be arrested after confessing that he was impaired.
