Emily Weiss

Berry Law Firm Attorney since 2019

Army Wife, Navy Daughter, Quilter, Cat Lover, Attorney at Berry Law Firm.

Emily Weiss has a heart for Veterans. As the daughter of a retired Navy Veteran and the wife of a disabled Army Veteran, Emily has seen firsthand the struggles disabled Veterans face after they return home. With personal experience dealing with the often difficult and confusing Veterans Affairs system, Emily is always on the front lines, fighting for her clients’ rights as if they were her own family.

In fact, Emily’s love for her family is what spurred her to fight for Veterans early in her career: While attending the University of South Dakota, Emily was a member of the USD Veteran’s Club and successfully lobbied the school for better Veteran-friendly policies and resources. Afterward, she continued to improve Veterans’ lives while working as a legal fellow for the U.S. Senate Committee for Veterans’ Affairs. Now she she’s living her dream by working with Veterans every day—listening to their concerns, getting them the help they need, and obtaining all the VA compensation they deserve.

When Your Battle Ends, Hers Begins

Emily believes that Veterans have already done their part fighting for our country, and it’s her job to fight for our country’s Veterans so they can be compensated for their sacrifices. Emily understands that when Veterans come home, they deserve to be taken care of, protected, and amply compensated for any injuries they sustained in service. Navigating the complicated VA system is never something a Veteran should have to undertake alone.

When she gets a phone call from a client saying she’s changed their life for the better, it marks Emily’s best moment. These are the times she feels most proud to be an attorney, and when she knows she’s stood up for someone who’s done the same for her and her country.

Off the Battlefield

When Emily isn’t fighting for Veterans’ rights, she might be spotted at home with her husband Brendan, or quilting, scrapbooking, reading, or entertaining her studious cat, Perci McMeowertens (Attorney at Paw). She is a masterful quilter, having crafted 25 so far (and counting!). That creative, sweet side is how she balances her fierce and competitive nature. She loves a good video games binge, and it’s been said that she is quite the legend at the shooting range! Emily loves spending time with her family and her (sometimes needy) kittens, as it always reminds her about what she’s fighting to protect.
