Berry Law CEO John S. Berry and top criminal defense attorney Mallory Hughes will be attending the American Board of Criminal Lawyers (ABCL) Conference May 31 through June 2 in Barcelona, Spain. Their attendance is through invitation only, based on an elite standard of proven ethical and professional excellence.
ABCL holds this conference for its members (“fellows”) several times per year, allowing the greatest minds in criminal defense across North America and Europe to come together to discuss innovations in the field, pressing legal issues, and groundbreaking defense strategies for their clients. Attending lawyers leave with a sharpened arsenal of new information to better defend their clients and continue their legacy of legal wins.
All ABCL members must have at least 10 years of criminal trial experience and have tried at least 50 trials, with 35 of those being felony jury trials. Exceptions are made in cases with outstanding results.
Berry Law CEO John Berry and top criminal defense attorney Mallory Hughes are honored to be welcomed among some of the greatest criminal defense minds across North America and Europe. Their invitation is based on professional merit: along with the standard requirements for admission, Berry and Hughes also have a collective win rate of over 75%; they are two of only three attorneys in Nebraska who are members. The third is John S. Berry Sr., Berry’s father and founder of Berry Law.
This month’s event will be held at the Hotel Arts Barcelona. Topics for discussion aren’t released beforehand, however previous meetings have discussed the use of video in defense proceedings, legitimacy of polygraph tests, civil rights in police encounter cases, and many more innovative legal strategies.
Berry and Hughes look forward to defending their clients even more fiercely with the information learned and exchanged through this event.
The American Board of Criminal Lawyers (ABCL) was founded in June 1978 by San Francisco attorney Nathan Cohn. The primary concern of the ABCL is the preservation and the free exercise of fundamental freedoms for all those accused of criminal conduct.
