Residents of Lincoln may indulge in some holiday parties every now and then. With Halloween just gone and Thanksgiving coming up ahead, there are plenty of opportunities to have a beer and a good laugh. However, enjoying the night safely is an important thing. Otherwise you might find yourself facing drunk driving charges, which can cost a pretty penny.
This may be a lesson that one Lincoln County man will have to learn the hard way. It was reported that his breath registered at twice over the legal limit when he was tested at the Lincoln County Detention Center. He was brought in for further testing after police gave him field sobriety tests which he reportedly failed.
The attention of the police was initially garnered because the man drove into a house after sliding across their yard. Police speculate that the driver missed a corner due to being in an inebriated state and the slide was the result of that. While the Brady Fire and Rescue aided two trapped people inside of the home after the incident had occurred, no injuries were reported. The penalties that this man might face are currently unknown.
Jail time, permanent record marks and large fines can all be the result of causing damage while under the influence. Because of these consequences, DWI damage related charges can be difficult for anyone to handle. If you are in a situation where you are facing similar or related charges, you might benefit from the advice of an attorney.
