Berry Law criminal defense attorney Chad Wythers received a favorable outcome recently in a drug case involving $90,080 of alleged drug money.
A Berry Law client was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after state troopers found sealed bags of cash and empty suitcases that “had a strong smell of marijuana” during a traffic stop on I-80.
Mr. Wythers bargained a plea deal with prosecutors centered around the client’s previously clean criminal record and high level of cooperation resulting in no jail time and a $5,000 fine.
“This was a difficult situation for her,” Wythers said. “She was not necessarily aware of her co-defendant’s business dealings. She’s done all she can to cooperate and the felony on her record will be a substantial consequence. She’s sorry she ever got involved.”
