Berry Law is excited to welcome the addition of Erik Fern to the team. Erik brings a wide array of experience with him, with an emphasis in the practice areas of personal injury, civil rights, general litigation, and appeals. Erik is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Erik is originally from Hammond, Wisconsin, and received his J.D. in 2006. During his professional career, Erik has been a member of the Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota State Bar Associations. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club for ten years and served as the Attorney Coach for the Luther College Mock Trial from 2012 to 2014. Erik is the past treasurer, vice president, and president of the Winneshiek County Bar Association.
Mr. Fern is the newest attorney addition to Berry Law in a strong 2018, continuing the pattern of powerful growth that earned Berry Law a place on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing businesses for the previous two years. The firm has also been awarded as a member of the Law Firm 500, which recognizes superlative law firm growth and unwavering commitment to success. The Firm has spent much of 2018 expanding its practice and increasing its representation throughout the Midwest while continuing to help Veterans nationwide.
Mr. Fern represents people who have found themselves in situations that can feel overwhelming, using his experience to help navigate them to a solution. He believes that sound preparedness, careful thought, and diligence are the most important assets to being successful not only in the legal field, but also life in general. As an attorney, Erik devotes his time and effort to understanding his clients as individuals so he can help guide them to the best possible outcome.
When he is not working hard to help his clients, Erik is an avid fisherman, hunter and mountain biker. He loves the outdoors and takes any opportunity he can to enjoy a fall day with his wife and Dog. Erik and his wife both attend Christ Place church and hope to develop deep roots in Lincoln.
