Claire Hillan Sosa
Veterans Disability Lawyer

Claire Hillan Sosa
Claire is an Air Force wife and grew up hearing the incredible stories of the WWII veterans in her family—including Gunnery Sergeant Israel Margolis, who was fatally wounded in the Battle of Guam and requested that his fellow Marines sing the national anthem to him as he died.
Serving the public interest has always been important to Claire. She clerked for federal district judge Joseph F. Bataillon, Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican of the Nebraska Supreme Court and completed a constitutional impact litigation fellowship before transitioning to her passion of helping veterans obtain the full benefits they deserve. After working for VA reviewing claims at the Board of Veterans Appeals, Claire was overjoyed to join the Berry Law team, where she’s thrilled to leverage her inside knowledge of the bureaucracy of VA and deep understanding of the law to be a tireless advocate for her clients.
The highlight of Claire’s work is always hearing from her clients that she’s brought them some relief and eased their burdens—be they emotional, mental, or financial.
Claire received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science magna cum laude from CUNY Queens College, and her Master of Science and Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Creighton University School of Law. She is a VA accredited attorney and admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
In her free time, Claire trains for and competes in triathlon.
